Presurgical Requirements for Admission into the Hospital
No food should be given after 10 p.m. the evening before surgery. Water may be provided. Patients arriving for surgery should be at the clinic between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
All cats and dogs need to be up to date their vaccinations:
Dogs: Distemper, Parvo, Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Rabies.
Cats: Distemper (FVRCP) and Rabies.
Any scheduled surgery will be explained thoroughly and a treatment release will be provided requiring a signature and a choice whether to have pre-surgical bloodwork done on your pet. Pre-surgical bloodwork is not required but is HIGHLY recommended to determine if there are any underlying illnesses that have not yet been detected. All patients will receive instructions on how to care for their pet after any surgical procedure.
